Having worked with some intensity on denial concerning Auschwitz, I was happy to find at your site some thoughts and observations which were new to me, and which I expect to be useful in the near future. Good Work!

I personally think that this web site is so important to remember those poor people who were forced to give up their lives because some nut-case thought it was right. I appreciate your efforts and I hope you will continue to keep up the good work.

I think That The Holocaust was a very interesting point in history but also a very tramatic. I have lived in maine all my life but recently found out that my great granmother was gassed in the gas chambers in one of the concentration camps and I have since been learnind about diffrent things in the Holocaust History class that I attend at Gorham High School.

The only reason Hitler killed the Jews was to obtain their money & their assets with which to fund his war machine. He wished to enlarge the country of Germany. This meant making war with the surrounding countries to capture their territory. A war which Germany lost.

Would his ghastly deeds have been justified by the German citizens if he had won? The Jews were not plundered because they were Jews, or because he disliked their religion. He was merely looking for any group of people, within his own country & within the countries he would invade, to slaughter & to rob in order to fund his war needs. Since the Jews controlled vast amounts of wealth, he set his sights on them & they were doomed. And the rest of the German leadership supported him. The Jews had to be killed off so that they would not seek retribution at a later date for his thievery. He also killed the Jewish women & children, as well as poor Jews so that there would be no one to avenge the killing & thievery in subsequent generations. He could have raised taxes to acquire the funds for his war machine, but then he would not have lost his popularity & could have been removed from office. He lived for power & recognition. The purpose of his war was to extend the German geographical boundaries, remove or kill the current occupants of the surrounding territories, and move in German citizens on the newly acquired lands. He started a hate campaign against the Jews to obtain the support and acceptance of the Gentile Germans in his slaughter of the Jews.

The German leaders were successful in obtaining their objectives in the killing of the Jews & the acquisition of the Jews' assets. They were not successful in the expansion of the German territories and the winning of the war.

Many millions were spent & many millions died in his expanionist attempt.

To which group of German citizens will some future generation of Germans look to - to slaughter & plunder when they feel the need to expand German territory once again? It won't be the Jews. All their money & lives are gone.

History does repeat itself.

I, like most who seem to wander here, am using this extrodany site for a history paper. THe reserch and data seem endless, but I would complain because in a way this mandatory assignment is a way of letting todays youth know how easy most of us have it. I am an open-minded person and I often drift into fantizes to write my papers better. I try to imagin what it would be like, but this I can't. No matter how many books I read, how many photographs I view it is still unimagainable. I learn more each year, and more information is discovered, I can't put myself in their shoes. And in a sense, fear doing so. I consider myself a loving person, who enjoys life and all living. I am an easy target for endless debates about the holocaust, and what is truely was. Despite everything I would rather know the horrid truth than believe a lie. I want and hope everyone will work together or history might repeat itself. Love and huuggs to all ~Nikki

For a school project we had to choose somehting that we had learned little about but yearned to know more. I don't know why but I chose the holocaust. Now for 9 weeks I have been sick. I have nightmares and trouble thinking. I cannot doo anything in my daily life like I used to. My life has been altered foreven knowing that this happened to people. I cry everytime I hear about it. In my classrooms people will argue for Hitler and that will begin my outrage. I will try to argue my point but they are just as stupid as he was. They don't get it that no matter the way you life your life or your beliefs WE ARE ALL HUMAN. We deserve as much respect as they do. I am a white, female, of southern baptist religion. I am not jewish I don't even know a jewish person. I would have been just fine during the holocaust. That makes me even more upset. I would have lived through it. I would have watched this happen. I want everyone to realize what happened and join with me in saying NEVER AGIAN!!!!

Hello this is a concernered visiter. Weare learning about the holocaust in school and I don't like the things that were going on then. It was not nice infact that was ludicrouse. When I heard what had happened I was saddened to hear that people like that would do that to fellow human beings. I think that Hitler was an insane egotistical person who let hatred over come him which I think should not have happened. He did not have a heart and anybody that thought he did is messed up in the head those people have probems and Ithink that if they were put in that same torture they would think different about what they are thinking or felling.

How horrible it is to know that the Holocaust is a fact in the history of our world and that both the perpetrators and the victims were human beings. It is difficult to make oneself realize that human beings are capable of such atrocities upon their own kind. To remember the Holocaust is to admit to yourself that these were real people, not demons. Even real people are capable of evil actions. Thank you for teaching myself and others about this piece of history we all wish we could say never happened. We must remember that we are real people also. We must teach our children to be compassionate, fair, and morally secure. We must make sure this never happens again. Tonya jr. at Marshall Univ, WV

Since your case is apparently so well documented go head to heads on TV on TV with the Holocaust Deniers. Because you fear the Deniers more than death itself, you persecute and prosecute them in the Western World by means of quasi courts where truth is no defence. You are waiting to somehow subvert the US First Amendment to the Constitution to complete the suppression of historical truth. A response would be welcome.

I am tired of people who blind themselves to past history and current events because of this one relatively short, brutal, highly publicized time 50 years ago. As though it is the lowest man has ever stooped. Don't you realize, as sad as it may be, that things like this or worse have gone on all through human history. An informed world citizen also knows that these things are still going on today in Rowanda, Somalia, Chechnia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Yugoslavia etc...? How may people died in the name of Christ? The inquisition, the annihilation of American Indians, the Maya, the Inca and countless other native peoples come to mind. I realize it is a sick voyeuristic aspect of us humans to repeatedly look at things that disturb us. The holocaust was merely the first time these horrific things were documented on film. We, as a society, need to learn some self control. We need to look away from these sickly attractive images and fix what can be fixed, make a better present, plan a better future, and not

dwell in the unchangeable past. How long must we villify the Germans, and subject ourselves to self flagellation about this one event. How many picture books need to be printed, films need to be made, or web sites need to be created? What do you hope to fix by staring at these horrible images and reading the accounts? The problem has been fixed. Jewish persecution is not this worlds most pressing problem. Why are you not up in arms about the the 60 million Russians who died at the hands of Stalin after the War. What about the removal of 75% of all Armenians from the face of the planet? Is it because there were no photographers there to document it or cool movies since made about it? Maybe it is because these other peoples were so decimated that when the dust cleared that they didn't have the means to publicize their plight as well as the Jews. If you want to feel bad about something choose a cause you can do something about, not an issue that was corrected 50 years ago.

I am a senior at the University of Nevada, Reno and I looked to this site to find information about Holocaust denial. I have read many primary sources about holocaust history specifically relating to the gas chambers. I wanted to explore both sides of the revisionist vs. anti- revisionist arguement objectively before coming to any conclusions. After reviewing the literature I can clearly say that there is no truth to the revisionist theory. They make simplistic yet deceptive claims with no basis in reality. Some of their claims are based on such faulty reasoning that their falaciousness can be refuted without even examining hard evidence. It makes my heart very heavy to know that the revisionist theory is even being debated. It makes a mockery of our scholastic institutions and it dishonors the memory of all those who were killed during the Holocaust

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have recently watched the two Steven Spielberg films which interview survivors of the Holocaust. Much of my family perished in the Holocaust. My family is also closely related to many survivors who have been interviewed by Steven Spielberg for his films. I would like to look up some family names of possible survivors who were never found.

Would this be possible, and if so, would you please send me phone numbers or contacts who could assist me in my efforts?

I am also interested in assisting with any film documentary production on the Holocaust.

What do I type to even express the emotion I feel when I hear of the Holocaust. I am not Jewish, and my family left Germany long before the Nazis came to power. I am not old enough to personally remember the Holocaust, I am 25. But my loving parents answered my questions to the best of my knowledge and when they couldn't answer, they got me a library card. The horror one must have felt to lose thier families. I feel blessed have mine. But I do know that the Holocaust will never be forgotten, for I will answer my children's questions, and when I can't, I will get them a library card.

I think it's incredible that anyone can have the audacity to deny that the holocaust ever happened, it was possibly the most shameful period in human history and all I can say is I pray it never happens again.

I think it's brilliant that people have gone to all this effort to educate people, so we can all work as hard as possible to prevent something on this scale happening again.

i think that the holocaust was the most horrible thing to ever happen to anyone. Although it was a horrific matter i find so interesting and love to learn all i can about it. I think that anyone who had anything to do with the nazi party should be punished. I have alot of sorrow in my heart for all of the vitims of th Holocaust. The children more than any. Being so young and javing to face something so horrible is terrible. I wish that this had never happened and pray that it never happens again. Jewish people are just like everyone else and shouldn't be disgriminated against. For anyone who is Jewish, be proud of what you are and don't let anyone change what you are. Your beliefs are just as important as anyone elses. Be proud of the Jews that were strong and those to struggled to live. jennifer

I am an Australian, and despite our 211 years history as a free people who have defended that heritage in several wars, I am painfully aware that freedom is very fragile and so easily lost, so I am interested in the historical events in Germany in the 1930's and 1940's. Your site is excellent. However, can I suggest you list more than one of the books of Elie Wiesel. Last year I read his autobiography "All Rivers Run to the Sea" which was inspiring, and since have managed to access a couple of others, but most of his titles are not available, being out of print. Also why not include a separate Directory section lisitng other relevant internet sites, including the URL and a description of each. - for example, one excellent site is the ANNE FRANK site - www.annefrank.com - because there's much rubbish on the Internet a Directory is a very valuable resource.

That people actually deny the holocaust gives me the frightening thought that we have not learned from our mistakes. My visit to the page left me amazed at how somebody could be so cruel. Our class is working on hitler and the holocaust and the further we go on the sicker we get.

I, and all those who have read this site think that it is a very informative page on the sheer barbarity of the Holocaust. In itself it is brutal, but that only enhances the effect. I wish to see more of you and pages like this in future.

I have looked at the Holocaust web site and am horrified at the pictures in the library section.

I am sending this message not knowing exactly what to say. How can I put in to words the sadness I feel, as a fellow human being, for all of those people who lost their lives and families.

I have the greatest respect for their memories and the survivours from that hideous time. People often refer to this period as "being so long ago", as if we should forgive and forget. In the history of the world it was a whisper away and as someone who has been on this earth for only thrity two years I feel strongly that the vicitims and their families should be remembered and cherished.

The web site is harrowing but it really does inform people of what some of the worst characteristics of mankind are. The day we can eliminate racism and intollerance the better the world will be.

My deepest respect.

I was greatful that I could find reputable information on the

tragidy that occured to the Jewish people and others such as

the Gypsies and political enemies of the Regime. Pictures

are worth a thousand words, maybe soon you will have some.

Please remember that "ethnic cleansing" is still going on

around the world, and should not be tolerated against any race.

I am doing a project on the Holocaust and found this site very helpful. We are focusing on the SS St.Louis and why America did virtually nothing to help the Jews (I am Jewish). This is the only site that I found any information on the St. Louis. Thanks so much. Your site is great! I'll be back!

I am a BA(Hons) graduate who specialised in the study of the Holocaust. My son is currently studying this subject at school and whilst I have an extensive array of evidence I was pleased to see that you had some documents I had not previously seen.

I have always heard about Hitler and the concentration camps. It bothered me, but I never really got to understand how horrible it really was. Today I watched a movie from 1987 called "Escape From Sobibor". I apologize if I got the spelling wrong. I couldn't watch it in it's entirety because it was very disturbing. Although not a lot of the horror was shown, it made me realize that what those people went through can never be compared. I wish there was some way to understand how any of it could have happened, but there never will be. Let us all hope and pray that nothing like that EVER happens again. Jennifer Scalise

This tragedy wasn't fake. It would be ungrateful to say such a thing; especially for the people that lost their lives in the camps away from their families, scared and abused. Let's NOT FORGET and let it be a life-guide for the next generations. Finally, I hope that people with OSCAR SCHINDLER'S courage and strength do exist nowadays.

Great job! 5/11/1999 F.P

I just wanted to share with you that I thought you're sight was very good. Our school recently had a forties unit where we learned about the Holocaust. We were having a discussion on what a just sentance for Hitler would be. Someone stood up and said that he should be killed. Then a girl stood up and said "My friend's mom has a bumper sticker that says 'Why do we kill people that kill people to show people that killing people is wrong?'" That phrase pretty much ended our discussion. I have read the stories of the Holocaust and have had nightmares. From our unit, I know and our whole class knows that We must not forget, because if we do, it might happen again.

I have heard about the holocaust all my life, and have never had the slightest doubt that it did occur. My father served in France in 1944-1945, and he told me that even there he saw much evidence of atrocities perpetrated by the Nazis on civilian populations. Although the holocaust has always been a subject of interest to me I have never taken the time to research it. Now that I have internet access and have found your site I can find out the things I feel everyone should know about this great tragedy. Thank you for providing the resources I need to do this.

Thanks for the great information that I found here. This is a great place to find things on the holocaust and what the peole went through there. But for the future you should include some pictures of what the people had to go through.
