Each document number (i.e. NO-xxx) usually consists of three separate sections:

1) An introductory page (or pages) with Staff Evidence Analysis as the heading. The S.E.A. contains a brief description of the documents, a listing of the persons or organizations implicated, and other critical information.

2) A transcription of the original document(s) in the German language.

3) A translation of the original document(s) in German into the English language, often accompanied by a translator's certification.

Most of the NO-xxx documents in this collection include all three formats described above. Where one (or more) of these is lacking, a blank page with "document missing" has been inserted in the appropriate place.

Please report any errors or discrepancies to:

This collection consists of 5,920 NO- archives with over 30,000 pages of text. It was donated to the Holocaust History Project by the Goldsmith Collection.

These are the original mimeographed documents employed in the Nuremberg Trials, and are regretably in very poor condition. Foxing and crumbling are taking their toll. Due to their fragile condition it has been necessary to create large, and therefore more legible files, (900 x 1400 pixels per page) of ± 750 kilobytes . As our technique improves we will attempt to create smaller files. In the meantime, please accept our apologies for slow downloads.

Ongoing scanning of the documents is carried out by volunteers on Hewlett Packard, Ricoh and MicroTek scanners using PhotoShop 5.5. The Mazal Library is grateful to its volunteers:
