Humiliating a whole Jewish community. Community leaders are marched through the streets of Baden-Baden. They are forced to carry a Star of David on which the Nazis have written: ' God will not forsake us.'

Flanked by Nazi policemen, the Jews of Baden-Baden are marched through the streets to the synagogue.

Rant

At the synagogue they are forced to uncover their heads, in breach of Jewish religious practice, and to listen to readings from an anti-semitic newspaper.

Burning

During the 'Night of Broken Glass,' hundreds of synagogues were set on fire throughout Germany, Austria and the Sudetenland, among them the main synagogue at Baden-Baden.
