These are comments left by visitors to the Holocaust History Project web site, in the month of December, 1998. SHEMA YISRAEL. WE WILL NOT LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN.
NIE WIEDER DEUTSCHLAND
Although I was born in 1942 and was not old enough to be involved with WWII I had several uncles that were. Several of my uncles have passed away and I hope what they went through as american soldiers will never be repeated. I have never understood how an entire country could get behind the efforts of a sick ...... mad ...... man.
I think this page is very educational. The topic is sooo sad. Because of the greed of one man, an emptiness is left in each heart. Although the war is over, some are still fighting a war inside their hearts. I think the holocaust was a cruel and unruly punishment. The jews did nothing to deserve it. Hitler didn't even know them. Just remember, not everyone is the same. Everyone is different in their own way, but that doesn't make them a bad person. I don't believe how someone can believe the Holocaust didn't happened. All that suffering and laboring the Jews went through and they just brush it off like a piece of flint on their coat. It did happen, and the Jews are very strong people. They fought for us. Some died for us and those that did not die fought just as hard. The people of the Holocaust live to tell a story. A story of unruly suffering and bad abuse. It shouldn't have happened. For the love of God and for the sake of our country, let's not let this happen again. 'Cause God only knows, it could happen to you. If you agree with me please E-mail me.
This exhibition has been very disconcerting and sad to view. Unlike other acts of genocide around the world, or the murder of minorities, anywhere and at anytime, the evidence is visibly presented against the mass murderers. It also was judged at an International Military Court, albeit that some evidence was withheld or tampered with: by both the Germans and the Allies. What is chilling are the Nazis comments and admissions. I have read some of David Irvings military works and found them reasoned and based on the primary sources. But here, he denies the validity of confessions, by high ranking officials and SS murderers, and the material evidence, - the primary sources of the German archives which he has elsewhere esteemed, - when it favoured his case. But this is about the murder of defenceless innocents in acts of barbarity and brutality and those who deny it on mere slight technicality lack any humanity or pathos for the victims. The Holocast tragedy for the Jewish people, and the murder of other peoples by the Nazis, cannot be denied by any fair-minded and objective person. This exhibition illustrates the case against the Nazis, using their own evidence and confessions, and convinces me that the Holocast was a planned and deliberate act. Not to acknowlege that is to paraphase William Butler Yeats, makes "a stone of ones heart".
As the Translations Manager of the JewishGen Yizkor Book Project, I find your site very informative and a valuable resource on documents and interpretation.
I have really enjoyed doing reaserch on such ahorrible topic. Please send me more stuff if possible. Innocent people died due to the fact that one man, Adolf Hitler, want to conquer the world. That was not right!!!!!!
I perform in a winter percussion ensemble called Carolina Thunder. This year our show is scenes from the Holocaust. We are not taking a stand on whether it was wrong or right, just opening the book of history to that page for a while and taking a glance. We are using Music From Prague, Quartet for the End of Time and Different Trains. This page has been very informative to me. Thank you.
Yes Hi this whole site helped me with my 5 page written essay i had to do about the torture and other things that happend during the holocaust i thank u for puting together a great web site
this place really halped me on my project
For those of you who don't believe that the Holocaust happened, I have just one thing to ask of you. Please, for the love of God, DO NOT DISRESPECT those people involved with this tregedy. I don't know how you can say that this never happened, all I can believe is that you are in denial, and you need help. I could never even begin to understand the way you think, all I can do is pray that you too will light a candle instead of cursing the darkness!
I am a junior in high school and enrolled in a Holocaust education course. For my final project, I wish to make a compilation of written material from Holocaust surviors and those that are closely related to Holocaust survivors. If you are interested in assiting me with this project, please e-mail me - adam82@att.net Thank you, Adam Rubin
Never again can we standby and remain silent and allow a nation to determine who is to live and who is to die.
This past summer (1998) Myself and around 150 others from Jasper, Alabama took the trip of a life time to Europe. Our first stop was in Germany. We took a tour of Dachau. The tour really made you think about what went on during this time in history. I remember sitting near the memoral thinking of all the people who lost their lives in this place and what did the US troops think when they first walked through the gates. I prayed for the people. It wasn't until I returned to the United States and was showing the photographs of the camp to my mother, that I learned that my father, who was a medic during WW II and helped liberate Dachau. I wish I had known that when I was there.
An important project to our world
Thank you for this website. It is clear, concise and written in direct, correct English -- the perfect tool to refute "revisionists". There is no need to get hysterical about these small and small-minded people, as your website and pamphlet so precisely demonstrate. I wish you only good things and congratulate you for your efforts. Happy holidays, Chana
HI I REALLY LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO HELP PEOPLE SEE HOW THINGS REALLY WERE DURING THE HOLOCAUST. THANKS CHAD Many Thanks I could have saved myself a trip to the library if I had looked on the net sooner. I am sure the information I have got from here will help a lot with my essay.
Peace be with us all. To those who have fallen, rest in peace. Peace.
The holocaust never should have happened. I have been interested in it since I went to Washington DC's holocaust museum. So if Hitler was here all I would tell him is: God have mercy on your soul!
Very well presented. Thank you for your efforts. I repeat a previous sentiment "Never again."
you need to have way more pictures of holocaust art and literature. I was very disapointed!!!!!!!!
hello I am very interested this part of history and the stuff I see and hear it sends chills down my spine. I am 16 years old and it scares me because I am afraid of history repeating its self.
Even though the words "Never Again" are written and repeated, history says that is not so. I am not a Jew and I can see that if the Jewish people are not vigilant then they are doomed to repeat the same horrors of the past. Even as I write this the world is busy tearing apart Isreal, something that Jewish blood was spilled for and is the right of the Jew to occupy. The Jews that came out of the Holocaust would not give an inch, and I believe the Arabs want more than an inch, they want the destruction of the Jewish people. (They're words, not mine!)
Thank all of you who have put so much work and history into this site. I started on the first page, and never stopped. I have never heard of this man, Irving, and cannot believe that he would state that the Holocaust never happened. Pictures say a thousand words, perhaps he sees but is still blind. Our family is now united by marriage, and I want to be able to explain to our soon to be born Grandson, who will carry on a fine name of ages past, that he is to be as proud of his past heritage, as well as the bright happy future that is in store for him. I am honored to be associated with our Son-in-law's family, loving, caring, and sharing our joy of this new life that our daughter is bringing into the world. Hitler and his ruthlessness could never stop all those brave people who suffered so much; he only made all of us realize that good outlasts evil. Thank you so much, Jackie
I am a Orthadox Jew and I have been amazed by this site. I have a friend whose garndfather survived the Holocaust and he told me that Mengels performed 'experiments' on him and amputated his right arm. This proves how gross and evil the Nzi's were Gavie Predjudice of any kind is wrong. To kill someone because he is different from you, is a sin. God created individuals, each with a personality of his own, no two people are alike. He has written a commandment...Thou shalt not kill. Does anyone listen?
It's a shame that hitler died. He shouldn't have stopped before he nuked israel and the creator of this webpage. It would of been nice if he finished off Poland too. That's all thanx. E-mail me with any questions
I am glad you made this webpage, i got some of my resouces from this site. I learned more reading those essays that others wrote than a teacher would have taught me in a couple months..
Everytime I think of the Holocaust and all that happened it makes me really sad. I know Germany was at a low time but still they should have thought more for themselves. It's probally easier said than done but I believe it could have been stopped. People knew it was going on even, how could they say they didn't? That is not a thing that is easily over looked. The people that knew it was wrong still kept quiet for the sake of their lives. They were too selfish to consider the millions of beings that were tortured and killed for the stupidest reason. When the time came for the trials of course no one was at fault. I believe they all got what they deserved but their prosecution could not change anything. Nothing can change the past, just the future.
The holocost was indeed a tragedy. I thank you for your website. My Grandmother who was a survivor of the World War II camps was very inpressed by you website.
Never again.
The Holocaust is a terrible reminder of man's inablity to respect and appreciate life. It is a great misfortune for society today, to have such horrible actions in our history. We cannot be as hopeful as many great philosphers and thinkers of the past, in that man will become enlightened and reach a perfection of soul. Antoine Nicholas de Condorcet suggests that man has an ability to become perfect through this personal enlightenment. Unfortunately, history has proven quiet the opposite. The senseless and overwhelmingly cruel murders of millions of innocent people is far from "human perfection", and as hopeful as optomists are, it is unlikely that we will ever see a perfect society. We can only pray that nothing of the magnitude of the Holocaust will happen ever again. As a society we should appreciate each other, instead of blaming each other. I recommend this site to anyone interested in why man acts so cruelly and selfishly. The article "The Chemistry of Auschwitz" is extremely intersting, and I also suggest the memoir "Survival in Auschwitz", written by Primo Levi, whom the article was dedicated. We should all educate ourselves about such things as the Holocaust, in order to prevent history from repeating itself.
Ever since I was young I was fasciated with the horrific events of the holocaust. Thank you for this place on the internet.
We as a class at Kissimmee Middle in Kissimmee Fl had to learn about the holocaust. To us it was a tragic story(most of us). We wish that it never happened and it won't happen again. We hope that we can learn more about it. We watched a documentary and it was sad. We heard that Schindlers List was a movie about it I am not sure. Well thanks for reading Bye, Mrs. Harris' Class
I logged onto this webpage to find some information on the Warsaw and Lodz ghettos for a paper I must do for my genocide class. However, both my grandparents are Holocaust survivors and each of them lost all their family except for one sibling. This webpage was a great help and source of information for any who are ignorant of the Holocaust.
I am a homeschool mom of a 10 year old boy and I am a Christian. I began studying the holocaust 10 years ago and vowed that my children would know all there is too know about it. I checked out every book in our local library regarding the holocaust and have continued my search for information. Even though we do not believe the same things, I have a heart for the Jewish people because my Lord was one of them. God Bless you all and you will continually be in my prayers. i think hitler is a total dick and i dont see any reason why anyone should have been killed!!! and thats that, -C.B-
I WAS DOING A REPORT AND I FOUND THIS SITE TO BE A GREAT HELP! THANKS, AMY QUINTERO I am the first generation offspring of holocaust survivors. My parents came from Vienna. All their families were murdered by the nazis. In spite of such wickedness and evil, the human spirit prevails and together with countless million others they sought and found good productive lives. Yes the scars are still etched deep in all our minds, yet we have survived and prospered. It is the duty of all decent people (and the majority of the world are) to ensure that the darkness of the evil of anti-semitism and facism of every kind is exposed. The modern "Hitlers" ie the "Pinochets" must never believe that they will ultimately go "scot free."
I visited the camp in December, 1983, and was an emotional experience for me. I wish I had a photo of the granate rock at the exit stating in 7 languages "NEVER AGAIN".
Hi do you have any info. on Auschwitz for a 5th grade report? If so please e-mail me the info.thank you Kurt Worley
As a student of history I appreciate what you are trying to do which is preserve the truth. I first came across the denial of the Holocaust as a student at Ft. Hays State University in 1979 and was shocked at the audacity of individuals to rewrite the past. The tragedy is that despite all the information that you present, it will not stop such things from happening again. Indeed, millions have been murdered by brutual regimes since the end of World War II. And the blood bath will continue until the coming of the Messiah. Continue the good work.
I love all the info you have on me thanks .
It's wild how one man and one nation could lead such a horrible impression on the world by killing millions of innocent people. I believe that everyone deserves a chance at making up a mistake they may have made, but something like this is unacceptable. My wishes go out to those who survived this great ordeal or in some way are connected. God Bless you all.
Hello and my deepest sympathies for the people that were killed during the Holocaust..I have read many books and seen movies like Schindler's List, and it leaves me astonished that people could do that to other living things!!! It's sickening and I'm doing a report in one of my classes on the Holocaust and it's hard for me not to feel hatred towards Adolph Hitler, I'm a Christian and I know that I shouldn't hate anyone, but it's hard not to. Well I better cut it short and get back to class. God Bless!
I have much sympothy for the Jewish, and I feel that this site is an all out eye opener, especially for those who are still in denial of the holocaust. Hitler served a great injustice to you, but the war proved once more your great strength and will. I admire your will to survive, your truely, Kasey lou
It's really cool to learn about stuff that happened so long ago, but still affects life today.
Understanding why such a horrible event ever occured is hard to understand, but understanding why some people believe it never happened, is even harder.
Thank you :)
I'D LIKE TO EXPRESS MY ADMIRATION TO THOSE SURVIVORS OF THE HOLOCAUST.FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN AND READ ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST, ITS UNBELIEVBLE THAT ANYBODY COULD OF SURVIVE THAT. THE JEWISH NATION HAD BEEN SUFFERING FOR CENTURIES AND IT IS NICE TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE REDEEMED FOR SOME OF THAT PAIN THAT THEY HAD BEEN THROUGH.
