Alot of people like to forget it ever happened, but as soon as we let everyone forget, something like that would happen again. My Choir, EPCC, of Evansville, Indiana sang a song outside of the museum. By the end of the song some of us were crying and thought that we had just done something that we didn't deserve to do. I also watched the movie Schindler's List on TV. We also watched in our school. Although some teens and adults do not understand why this was such a terrible thing, I understand that what was done was wrong and we as humans have the responsibility to make sure that a mass murder of this sort never happens again. There were pictures; pictures which revealed a mountain of naked bodies, men and women. I never forgot. Years later while working on a research project, I walked through the stacks of a small town library. I found myself standing before an entire section devoted to the Holocaust. I was lost in the literature written secretly in the camps or following the end of World War II. In 1993 while studying in Washington D.C., I was invited to go on a tour of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. That same day I was taken to a neighborhood theatre near the Washing National Cathedral to see Schindler's List. The sights and sounds grieved my heart. My soul was filled with sadness. May God somehow help us face the tragedy of indifference. May the millions who died not have died in vain. In their memory let us be witnesses to the horror of the Holocaust.
