I'm not eloquent enough to describe the many emotions which sweep across my heart when I consider tragic enormity of the holocaust. Your articles, pictures, and thoughts help re-etch this sadness upon my soul more deeply than it was before. Truly, if the human race is to survive and progress, than the hatred which you describe must be confronted and battled whenever it appears. Although not all Americans realize it, the process that occrred in Littleton, Colorado was simply a minute manifestation of the evil which seized a nation fifty years ago. Your service in keeping the memories of these poor souls alive should truly be the work of mankind. Please continue your mission of rememberance. It is our best present hope.

The holocaust was an important thing to happen to history. I'm sorta glad it did happen. Hitler was a very strong leader. I respect him alot. I also sorta feel sorry for all the Jews and so on that suffered. That's all i have to say about that. I think also that you need more pics in this room. Thanks,

The Holocaust, Nazi, Germany, Ethnic cleansing, Kosovo. The death toll may not compare, but one is one too many. Do not deny or ignore it. Any person, educated or not, biased or not should be able to recognize the horrific similiarities between the Holocaust and Kosovo. Fifty years from now we'll all being saying "why did we let this happen, again?"

Thanks for the awesome remebrance you have created in these pages. In light of events at home and across the world, we must all remember the ultimate consequences of allowing intolerance and hate. We must never turn our backs to history. From the mistakes of others, we must surely learn.

The Holocaust was an awful and unfortunate happening. The innocent lives of so many people were simply tossed out of the way. Adolf Hitler was a very selfish and cowardly man. More people like Oskar Schindler should have made an effort to preserve more lives. He had created an island of sadness in an ocean of mortal sin The Nuremberg Trials were right in sentencing 11 of the 22 Nazi leaders to death for their sins. I give my respects to everyone who perished during this awful ordeal.

This a great site! Thanx a lot for creating it. It is very helpful!

Kudos to all of your staff for developing this site. It's definitely a need to know history topic. I've done extensive research on the Holcaust, and lived in Germany for 4 years. Not all Germans are bad. You'd really be amaxed at how many over there still believe in "the old ways" though. I know I'm wasting my breathing, but once was enough. It should've NEVER happened. Sad to say it's happening again today. Won't people EVER learn? Guess not.

I think the Holocaust was an awful thing. Do people even learn from history because the samething is happening in Kosovo as you read. I mean what people had to go threw back then was heroic. All those people that died just beacuse they were Jewish is terrible. For the people that lived through that and had hope during that if you are reading this, you are a hero.

CALLING WORLD JEWRY

The executive of our organization would like your support in having a decree passed implementing an international day of mourning to commemorate the destruction of two-thirds of our European Jewry.

Most tragedies and near tragedies in our history are commemorated by a fast, The Holocaust was not a tragedy it was a catastrophe that was unprecedented in suffering and death and should definitely be commemorated by a fast.

We want an international day of mourning that will prove acceptable to both the secular and orthodox Jewish world at large.

We the remaining few Holocaust survivors demand we be taken seriously and that this day of remembrance should materialize in our lifetime. We do not want our loved ones remembered during other fasts or at the Seder, we want one day set aside to remember and honor the Six Million Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust at the hands of the Nazis and their helpers.

We feel that it is imperative that the world at large and especially the Jewish world should never forget this traumatic event in our history in order that it never happens again.

If you agree with our suggestion would you please sign (your name country and email) and forward this Petition to shammy@bigfoot.com and to all your friends thus enabling us to collect as many signatures in the world. When we have all the signatures we will be sending them to the Israeli Parliament as well as both Chief Rabbis of Israel to implement this decree.

Hoping that we can bank on your support.

Thanking you

Yours sincerely

The Holocaust is a subject with a wide range of topics to be studied. The importance of such a significant event should never be forgotten, however Germany should also not be looked upon with bad feelings due to the actions of people an entire generation ago. While the Holocaust was mainly perpetrated by the Nazi party, it should also not be forgotten that many "ordinary" citizens were involved. Keep this in mind when studying all the aspects of the period from 1933-1945, the time of the Third Reich.

It is a such a shame that mankind will never learn from the mistakes of the past, as evidenced by this site and others (i.e. the Japanese massacre of the Chinese city of Nanjing).

NATO is now in the middle of bombing Yugoslavia in an attempt to prevent the genocide of the Albanians by Milosovich. Some have said that he is not a Hitler, I would disagree. Hitler did not immediately begin start out with his "master plan", he first had to force his beliefs on his countrypeople. Milosovich, I believe, is well on his way after having preached hatred of the Albanians to his people. I pray that NATO does not stop short due to politics, as in the case of U.S. military interventions. I can hardly think of a more noble reason for the use of the armies of NATO.

This is a great site, with wonderful reference material and well written essays by the various authors. After looking through such sites, I am left with a sense of disbelief, that mankind can actually do this to each other. I wish I could say "never again", but I know I'd be proven wrong...

I am not that knowledged about it, but I am always looking for something to read or watch about the Holocaust, especially when I hear people say that they don't believe it ever happened. I just dont wnat to be as ignorant as those people.

What happened to my ancesters and many others involved in the Holocaust is a really depressing event. It is something we should all learn a lesson from. However i think it is BULL that people who make others feel like crap, whether with words and or physical abuse, even if they are not killing they are not being any more of a better person then the NAZIs,SS,NEO-NAZIS, etc. People need to open their eyes to notice that doing something as little as calling them a name can hurt them just as badly as anything. Someones feelings are like a scab, they can reopen with the slightest touch.

Thank you for providing such an informative section on the holocaust. I personally think it is a dark area in every persons life. I was not born at the time it occured, but I am ashamed to be part of a human race that can denie things like this are happening. Elemanations of people, because of differences in race, religion, etc. have occured since the beginning of time. I can only hope that someday things will be different.

I think having a webpage like this is a really intelligent and caring idea. I think it is a great contribution to the people who are interested in the Holocaust. I also wish to remind people that it isn't just for assignments in school that children, and teenagers alike, come to websites that have to do with this. Since I was in 7 grade I have been discusted with the Germans horrifying acts. I'm now in 8 grade and still can't beleive it!

I thank whoever started this site. So many people have no idea how many lives were lost in WWII. I really hope the world learns from its mistakes. The worst thing that could ever happen is if this happened again....I worry about Kosovo every day, hoping that it doesn't. One person has made such an impact on the world. Hitler made a very horrible impact and Anne Frank has made a good impact. I get mad at my friends for laughing at the subject of WWII, or any war. I wish they didn't. One day they will laugh, and the next, they will be fighting in a war. They won't know what hit them.

Thankyou very much for creating this site! It helped me alot with my school project. I hope it helps the world become more educated about the war. Thanx!!

I think that no one deserves to be treated the way that the Jews were treated and anyone who thinks that what happened is okay, needs to experience that type of torture for themselves and then reevaluate his or her own opinion. the Jews have every right to believe in whatever they want. Whose to say that the Catholics are right, or the Christians. If that's what they want to believe, then leave them alone.

What a wonderful testiment to the millions of people who were tortured in the concentration camps during WWII! How horrible to think that we as human beings could be so cruel to one another is beyond my imagination. And to think that the same thing could be starting all over again in Kosovo....The only thing that can ease my mind is what Anne Frank had stated in her diary..." In spite of it all, I still beleive that people are really good at heart."

My heart goes out to everyone who has been touched in any way by the crimes committed during the Holocaust. This web site shows just the tip of the iceberg of what went on back then....My appreciation to everyone who had anything to do with this site!

2. I need to describe the mediebal experiments Mengele conducted and directed in Auschwitz. In a five paragraph essay: "Should modern anti-scientists sue the data Mengele plus the Nazis gained from their experiments on Jews."

I came across your site while performing a search for Kurt Gerstein, an SS officer who confessed to seeing Jews gassed at one of the camps. My search produced a number of revisionist sites, and having been reading and intensely interested in the Holocaust since I was nine years old and read Corie ten boom's book The Hiding Place, I found it nice to have a serious site devoted to answering questions and providing information about one of man's darkest moments. Please continue to improve this site, as documentation, information, and restatement of the facts will serve as the strongest evidence against those who would deny this awful chapter in humankind occurred. If anyone would like more extensive information, or are looking for others interested in seriously discussing this issue, please don't hesitate to email me. I hope this is not considered advertising, for I feel it is very important that we always remember this horror and use it as a measuring standard for preventing other human crises. Very sincerely, Shelley (ShellBell)
