Jacob's twin, Isral, who was ill, was deported on September 18, 1942, on convoy 34. Their father, Abraham, followed his family on convoy 55. The only one who escaped deportation was the oldest, Ida, 16; during the Vel d'Hiv roundup she escaped from police station in the 13th arr.
