Four of the five GROUMAN children were
deported. Of the four shown in this 1930 photograph, only Bernard, standing on
the left, escaped deportation. Suzanne, the oldest, was 23 in 1942 and was
married (her story is under her married name Yahia); Marie, age 15, and
Ida, 11, born in Paris, were deported on convoy 23 of August 24, 1942, along with their youngest
brother, Isaac, 9, of whom no picture remains. The family lived at 12
impasse Saumon in Paris (20th arr.). |
