Léon and Huguette KLEIN were
born in Paris (12th arr.) on April 27, 1930, and February 4, 1937,
respectively. They lived at 10 rue des Deux-Ponts, an apartment house where
some one hundred Jews were arrested between July and September 1942. On July
16, 1942, their father, Ojzer, their mother, Brucha, and the two children were
arrested. The oldest brother, Israel-Markus, age 23, had already been deported
in June, on convoy 4. Their father was then deported on convoy 13 and their
mother, separated from her children, on convoy 14. Huguette was deported on
convoy 20 of August 17 and Léon on
convoy 35 of September 21 making
five members of the same family deported on five different convoys. The only
one to escape arrest was Cyprian, 20, the oldest daughter. |
