The leading personality in the UGIF, of which he was
the director in the Vichy Zone, Raymond-Raoul LAMBERT was arrested by
the Gestapo because he had protested to Laval against the Germans' actions. He
did not wish to hide his family, and they shared his fate at Auschwitz. They
were deported on convoy 64 of December 7,
1943 he, his wife Simone, and their four children: Lionel, age
14; Marc, 11; Tony, 4; and Marie-France, 18 months. |
