Israel and Sarah LIPSZYC were born in Lille (Nord) in northern France on July 1, 1929, and March 29, 1931, respectively. Arrested in Lille, where they lived at 23 rue St-Etienne, they and their parents, Icek and Tauba, were transferred to the Malines camp, the Belgian equivalent of Drancy, and deported from there on the tenth convoy from Belgium of September 15, 1942. An older brother, Léon, age 25, was deported on convoy 50. Two sisters, Chana (Hélène) and Perla, and a brother, Abraham, escaped arrest hidden in the sanatorium in Trelon (Nord).
