Convoy 75 of May
30, 1944, carried away the entire MARCOVICI family: the parents, Manus
and Paule, and four children, all born in Nice: Edgar, age 18;
Robert, 15; Mireille, 13; and Claude-Eve, 6. They were
arrested in the south of France at Carcassonne (Aude). Edgar was liberated at
Auschwitz, and Robert at Buchenwald. Of those shown in the picture, only the
grandmother, Eva Gomez-Casseres, escaped deportation. |
