The only one of the four PANIGEL children, all born in Paris, to escape deportation, was Jacques, the third from the left. The others were deported on convoy 33 of September 16, 1942: Robert, born on May 21, 1933; Elise-Lilly, on December 1, 1934; and Monique, on July 19, 1938. The photograph was taken in September 1939. The family lived at 15 rue Saint-Martin in Paris (4th arr.). Their mother, Marguerite, was deported on the same convoy.
