Willy ROOS was born in Neustadt (Alsace) on
August 14, 1926. His family lived in Montreuil, outside of Paris. He, his
parents, Ernest and Jeannette, and his older brother and sister, Abraham and
Jeannette, tried to cross over into Spain during the summer of 1943. They were
arrested in Pau in southern France and interned in the camp at Mérignac
in Bordeaux. Transferred to Drancy in November, they were all deported on
convoy 64 of December 7, 1943. |
