Six children of the SCHNECK family from Roanne (Loire), in central France, were deported on November 20, 1943, on convoy 62 with their father, Léon. Their mother had died in April 1943. They lived at 41 rue du Commerce (now rue du Maréchal Foch). A commemorative tablet in the school on rue Marengo in Roanne recalls these children's martyrdom. They were: Clara, age 17, and Maurice, 14, both born in Poland; Marie, 13; Suzanne, 9; Albert, 4; and Tcharlie, 2, the last four born in Roanne. No photograph of Tcharlie remains.
