Maurice TSETVERY was born on October 23, 1932, in Paris (12th arr.). Arrested in Paris at his home, 50 rue de la Chapelle (18th arr.), during the Vel d'Hiv roundup, he followed his mother, Adèle, who was deported on convoy 12, and his father, Nachman, deported on convoy 15. Maurice was deported on convoy 23 of August 24, 1942. His brother Léon was very active in the Jewish resistance movement from 1942 to 1944 and in the French army from 1944 to 1945. He became an activist devoted to keeping alive the memory of deported Jews.
