The LACHMAN family had left Lorraine and taken refuge in Angoulême (Charente), where they lived at 65 place de la Bussate. They were arrested there in the big roundups that were carried out in the Occupied Zone in mid-October, 1942. In this photo, Bernard, born in Metz on January 23, 1932, is in front of his parents, Frieda and Jacques. He was deported with his sister Solange, 5, his brother Henri, 2, and his parents, on convoy 42 of November 6, 1942.
