Georgette (Jochwet) MANCHEL was born on February 15, 1927, in Zelechow, Poland. She lived at 181 rue du Temple (3rd arr.) in Paris, where she was arrested during the Vel d'Hiv roundup. She was deported from the Pithiviers camp on August 7, 1942, on convoy 16.

Madeleine MAJZNER (on the left) was photographed with her friend Clara during a short visit to Paris in the summer of 1941; they had gone to see L'Auberge du Cheval Blanc in the Chatelet theatre. Madeleine, born on January 15, 1928, was deported with her mother, Chana, following the Vel d'Hiv roundup, on convoy 16 of August 7, 1942. Her father, Icek, had preceded them on convoy 15. The family lived at 61 bis rue Baudelaire in Aubervilliers, just outside of Paris.
