Yvette WAJSBROD was born on June 1 1 ,
1928, in Paris, where she lived at 36 rue des Appenins (17th arr.). Her
brother writes: "My parents, who wanted to reduce the risk of our whole family
of four children getting arrested, put us in different places: my oldest
brother with a woodcutter in the Fontainebleau forest, myself, the younger boy,
on a farm in the region of Mantes-la-Jolie [Yvelines]; my sister Yvette with a
midwife in Paris, whose alcoholic husband supposedly informed against her and
the French police took her away. My sister Hélène was hidden in a
Catholic convent. My parents were not deported. Only my sister Yvette was
deported and she did not return." She was deported on
convoy 61 of October 28, 1943. |
