The Foreign Ministry has issued the
following directives to this embassy: It is required that the aforesaid
decisions be executed in the newly occupied zone. In the event that Italian
military authorities present any difficulties to the French authorities in the
execution of these measures, make a report thereon, describing the exact
situation so that those special cases can be reconsidered by the Italian
government.
On the morning of May 30 I reached Bonn with one
hundred photocopies of that document and an equal number of copies of a release
in which I again summed up the matter of the two thousand Jews. I distributed
these to the press and wire services, and went straight back to Paris. On June
1, 1970, Karl Mörsch succeeded Dahrendorf.
I have never seen Ernst
Achenbach, not even on television.
