. Dering obtained a certain position in the camp
. From Dering you could expect a certain ability to maneuver himself out
of doing certain kinds of operations
. Samuel was a Jew, which meant a
person 100-percent condemned to death in the camp. So he had the right to
prolong his life week by week, month by month. |
