Maps showing camps

I am looking for information listing the concentration camp sites. I am also interested in any pertinent maps which show the locations of them. I have one such map (Microsoft) which shows some of the camps, nearby cities and current political boundaries. I was wondering if there are others available, or if you could provide me with a link to such information.

Harry W. Mazal OBE answers:

I am one of the persons in the The Holocaust History Project who responds to questions from our readers. It is possible that other members of our Project will also respond to your question.

Some excellent sources which include comprehensive maps of the Nazi concentration camps are:

Historical Atlas of the Holocaust
United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
c. 1996, Macmillan Publishing (USA)
ISBN 0-02-897451-4

The Macmillan Atlas of the Holocaust
Martin Gilbert
c.1982, Macmillan Publishing (USA)
ISBN 0-02-543380-6

You might also wish to visit the following site which lists most of the concentration camps:

hello, i'm enquiring on behalf of a library client. do you have a site map of all the concentration camps of the third reich in germany and surrounding countries? if so, how can it be acquired or accessed?

Ralf P. Loserth Responds:

I am one of the persons who answers questions for the Holocaust History Project.

This question has come up before and I will link to my colleagues answer. Be aware however that the link in the answer for an online map is no longer available. I will provide an online link first, and then a link to his answer. He provides good book resources. The best of luck to you.

Best Regards

Ralf P. Loserth
