Bruno Tesch and Gerhard Peters

Question:

I am making a research about Bruno Tesch from Test und Stabenow and Gerhard Peters of Degesch (today exists with same name and logo). From denial sources I know that Bruno Tesch was hanged in Hamburg 5/16/46; Gerhard Peters was in prison for five years and then "dissapears". I think that this two people knew the special "use" of Zyklon B, but I didn´t find enough sources to be sure. It´s very important for my research find enough information and photos, specially of Dr. Gerhard Peters.

It´s very difficult to find books about zyklon b, because there are out-of-print. Please, help me!!!.

Harry W. Mazal OBE answers:

I am one of the persons in the Holocaust History Project who responds to questions from our readers. It is possible that you will receive other comments from my colleagues.

I have placed an abridged version of "The Zyklon-B Case: Trial of Bruno Tesch and Two Others" on my personal web-site:

http://www.mazal.org/archive

simply follow the link for "Zyklon-B Case"and you will be able to find much of the information that you are seeking on the trial of BrunoTesch, Joachim Drosihn and Karl Weinbacher which took place between March 1 and 8, 1946 in Hamburg.

The Holocaust History web-site has considerable information about Gerhard Peters and his work with Zyklon-B. The home page:

http://www.holocaust-history.org has links to the following documents:

"Blausäure zur Schädlingsbekämpfung"
Gerhard Peters, 1933

"Die Einsatzfähigheit der Balusäure Durchgasung bei tiefen Tempraturen"
Gerhard Peters and W. Rasch, 1941

You will also find several articles by my colleagues, Dr. Richard Green and Jamie McCarthy which debunk the absurd claims that deniers have been making.

You should also seek out the following books:

Nazi Mass Murder: A Documentary History of the Use of Poison Gas
Edited by Eugen Kogon, Hermann Langbein and Adalbert Rückerl
Translated by Mary Scott and Caroline Lloyd-Morris
c. 1993, Yale University Press
ISBN 0-300-05441-6

Generals in Grey Suits: The Directors of the International 'I. G. Farben' Cartel, their conspiracy and Trial at Nuremberg
Josiah E. Dubois Jr.,
c. 1953, The Bodley Head (London)

Please let me know if you need further information.

Yours sincerely,

Harry W. Mazal OBE
