The main monument in Belzec. On the left side of the monument a small hatch has been forced open. Apparantly by someone looking for valuables in connection to the recent excavations.
The text on the monument reads: "In memory of the victims of the Nazi terror, killed in the years 1942-1943".
It makes no mention of the fact that the place was a death camp and that the
overwhelming majority of the victims were Jewish.
