I agree, but from a different convergence of evidence.  A donut has only one
surface dimension.  My example is quite elegant. Take a two dimensional
surface, such as a piece of paper. Now cut a whole in the center. Rub your
finger over the surface and it will fall through the whole.  Actually, the
paper also has an edge.  Now try that with a donut.  No matter were you pass
your finger on the surface, you cannot find an edge.  If there is not an
edge, there can't be a hole.  Also the donut holes DD sells, are not holes
at all, but spheres. Who are they kidding!
