I am glad you mentioned satellites, because I happen to *work* with satellites. I determine their orbits.
In order to keep them in a stable and useful orbit, I have to plan maneuvers, that have a cost in fuel. In fact, this fuel expenditure is what makes the Moon a totally impossibility!
For, in order to control them, I have to spend, each year, an ammount of fuel bigger than 0.1% of the satellite's mass [I could give the exact number, but it's a professional secret, and they would have to kill me].
So, let's apply this number to the alleged Moon. If it existed since the alleged value of 6,000 years ago, and if it has now the alleged mass of 1/81 times the mass of the Earth, then it would have to be *at least* 402 times *more* massive than it is today. This is *much* more than Earth's mass, a clear impossibility.

No, they can't. Why did Skylab fall? Why is the Mir under constant risk of falling?

planets

This is irrelevant to the current discussion.
Also, let's suppose that there was such huge piece of junk floating over there [an absurd idea, but I am reasoning by reductio ad absurdum]. Can you *calculate* its effect over the orbit of a single satellite?
Imagine a satellite describing a full geostationary orbit around the Earth. This orbit is an approximate circle, with radius 42164 km, and the satellite describes it in 24 hours. In those 24 hours, the alleged Moon would be almost fixed, at an average distance of 380000 km. Using Newton's Law, the average acceleration upon the satellite would be 0.000034 m/s^2, which, computed over the 24 hours, would yield a displacement of 126 km. Our ranging equipment is able to detect this displacement, and it *does not* appear in the range!
