Kosova Crisis Centre

A major source of current news and background information on the genocide and conflict in Kosovo.  In addition to immediate news on the unfolding situation relating to the refugees, Serb instigated massacres and atrocities and the NATO campaign, there is background information, links to other sites, information about demonstrations worlwide supporting the Kosovars, letters of support, information on lending support, KCC news, etc.  The KCC-News mailing news list service can be subscribed to by sending an email to Majordomo@alb-net.com   including subscribe kcc-news in the body of the message (there is no need to include anything in the subject line).

US Department of State: Kosovo Humanitarian Crisis

Regularly updated information on the crisis in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on US focused events. Includes press releases, fact sheets, remarks, maps, texts and a list of related sites. There is also a mailing list, subscribers to which will receive all information published at this site, which can be subscribed to at http://www.state.gov/www/listservs.html

United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR)

Information on the Kosovo refugess situation and policies being implemented by UNHCR and other agencies.

ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) Operations in Yugoslavia

Information on its activities in Yugoslavia, calls for assistance, cooperation with other agencies, etc.

International Crisis Group

TFF Page on Ex-Yugoslavia and Albania

The goals of the Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research include conflict mitigation, peace research and education aimed at improving knowledge concerning the genesis of varied forms of conflict. This page includes links to a significant volume of materials relating to the conflict in the former Yugoslavia, Albania and Kosovo.

Human Rights Watch

One of the two major international rights organisations, Human Rights Watch produces reports, briefings, policy pronouncements, recommendations, etc., on a wide range of human rights issues in every part of the world.  As one of the leading human rights organisations it has a substantial influence on the development of human rights policies at both the international and national level.  Its Kosovo: Focus on Human Rights Web presentation collates various types of information relating to the background and current (1999) crisis in Kosovo, including short current updates, detailed reports, photographic images, news on campaigns, links to other organisations closely involved in human rights issues relating to the crisis, and similar. 

Yahoo News on Kosovo

Major news stories on Kosovo from various media sources, including CNN, BBC, Relief Agencies. Also, background information and links to related sites.

OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission

The Mission was established to ensure compliance on the part of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia with United Nations Resolutions 1160 and 1199, endorsed by Security Council Resolution 1203.  It was established under OSCE Permanent Council decision No. 263 on 25 October 1998.
