THE HUMANITARIAN CRISIS

The International Development Committee will publish its Third Report, “Kosovo: The Humanitarian Crisis” (Session 1998-99, HC 422), at 00.01 hours on Saturday 15 May 1999.

The Report is based on the findings of the Committee both in hearing evidence in the UK and during its recent visit to Albania and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Among the issues discussed in the Report are:

the response of the United Nations and others to the humanitarian crisis; the impact of the crisis on the region surrounding Kosovo; and UK policy on refugees.

Embargoed copies of the Report will be available for collection by Government Departments, witnesses and the press only from the Reception Desk at 7 Millbank, London, SW1A 3JA from 11.00 am until 12.00 noon on Friday 14 May, and from the Press Gallery from 11.00 am on Friday 14 May.

The published Report can be purchased from the Stationery Office Bookshops. The full text of the Report will also be available on the Internet at www.parliament.uk from 3.30 pm on Monday 17 May.
