Children of the UGIF Center of Neuilly. Even SS in charge of the arrest on July 21, 1944 dared not bring them to Drancy. They were immediately taken away by UGIF social workers. However, Alois Brunner would not let that situation stand. He ordered the UGIF to bring the Neuilly children to Drancy, threatening to deport 230 children from other UGIF centers already arrested on July 21. Thus, 17 of the Neuilly children were gathered, and brought to Drancy on July 25. On July 31, Brunner deported to Auschwitz these 17 children, as well as the 230 other UGIF children.
