I really feel sorry for the victims of the Holocaust. They didn't deserve what they got. Hitler should have had the same thing don to him as they had done to them. If he were alive,I would have mo sympathy for him if everyone treated him like an animal. I am learning about the Holocaust in School, and it affect's me very much. We were reading a book about this and it literally made me cry along with the Teacher and some other student's. I am sorry that they had to go through what they went through.

Sincerely,

Joy Clark

How very sad it makes me feel that in my lifetime a group of people could cause so much suffering and unjustice to another group of human beings.

The most important thing this website can do is keep this history forever in the world's mind so it cannot be denied that it really happened and make sure that it cannot happen again.

Thanks for the history lesson and best of luck to all of you.

As you look at the pictures and read the facts, let it in. This really happened. Each person was an individual with a story, mind and pulse. Don't just numbly read, let it in. This was real. This happened.

Thank you Mr. Mazal for telling me about this web site and your own site. I have been a student and collector of Holocaust items for over 30 years. No matter how much I read I can not understand...and as the years go by I think of what the world would be like if there were the 6 million here and their millions to help us with the problems we are now facing globally. It is too hard to bear. Thanks you again for helping all the youg people that use your resources.

This is a wonderful learning device for people of all ages to learn about the Holocaust. I hope it will show people how horrible it all was and it must never happen again, if we don't learn the history we are bound to repeat it. I think we should learn about it and talk about it all of the time because it honors the many brave people the Nazis killed horribly.

I have been doing a Power Point presentation for one of my german assignments in class. My topic was on concetration camps. I never knew all of the pain and suffering that these people went through. It's almost like the Mormon Pioneers, but even WORSE. These poor helpless people. They did absolutely nothing to deserve such treatment. I'm glad Hitler shot himself, but he should have suffered more. I pray that nothing like this will ever happen again.

I have been interested in this tragic part of history for several years. Your page has given me even more knowledge than I already had and I enjoyed visiting this sight. I'm not Jewish and neither is my family. I have read countless books on the subject and would like to know even more. I am currently writing a paper on the Holocaust for my english 101 class. I am seeking survivors or family members of survivors to interview. I realize that it is awfully painful to talk about, but I'd appreciate any help I might can get to help me in class and in my personal study of this subject. Please help me if you can, if not, I truly understand. Thank you. To those who might have been in the 50+chat room, please understand that I'm only seeking information from those willing to give it to me. I wasn't trying to be nosy or anything, I'm sincerly interested. Thanks again! Please e-mail me with any help or any literature/movies that can be recommended for further study.

Hi, My name is Cordelia Johnson and I'm interested in the Holocaust. I think it was a trajic thing that had happened to the millions of people who died in the Holocaust. I have a bit of Polish in me and I am thinking of converting to the Jwish Religion. If I was living back then, I would've tried my best to hide every soul I could so they wouldn't have to suffer. I'm nly 13 and don't have a lot of information on the Holocaust but I'd really like to write a book about it. I've published many books about different cultures and so forth and would like to get some information on the Holocaust. If you could, please email me at Ahsilver@hotmail.com so I can gather up as many factas I possibly could. Thank you for your time. "We all need to feel loved"

I visited Germany in the mid 80's. We were in Munich, and took the train to Dachau, about 10 kil. I remember pulling into the train station, and seeing the name "DACHAU" in large letters on the platform. It brought chills to my bones. I took the bus to Dachau concentration camp, and went to the museum which was opened in 1965.I purchased a book called "Concentration Camp Dachau 1933--1945". In this book are all the photo's & documents pertaining to the camp. We went on a tour of the camp. They had built two typical barracks, and left all the concrete slabs of all the other barracks. In the barracks were bunk beds about 4 high with shelves at each level. I asked the tour guide what those shelves were for? Her answer almost knocked me off my feet. She said, "those shelves were for the prisoners toilet articles" I got very mad, and I asked , what the hell are you talking about, I need a better explaination then that. She totally ignored me & led the tour outside. Another book I bought there had a letter from the Mayor of Dachau to the tourists. Because after all Dachau is a small town called Dachau. He tried to put across that the people of Dachau in 1933 voted against National Socialism. I think many of the people of Germany are still trying to deny what happened from 1933-1945.It's time they face what there Grandparents did to let Hitler come to power, and kill so many people, Jews & Gentiles alike.

Hi...I am 14 years old and in the eigth grade. My social studies class is studying the Holocaust. We watched the T.V mini-series "Holocaust" ( we are now doing a report on it) and we all saw what went on and how terrible Hitler was to not only the Jews, but to all of the people he thought of as "inferior" to him. That mini-series was nothing though. Everybody made a big deal about how gruesome it was. I am pretty sure everybody had known a little about the Holocaust, but not many of the students knew how bad it really was. A few weeks ago I watched something on A&E, I think, about the Holocaust. That really shows you what people went through. How unlucky everybody was...it was bloody and gory and everything, like the real thing. Some of even looked like real video footage. But still no matter how much you watch and read up on about the Holocaust, you will never know what it was like to be part of the act.

To think that some people push it away like it was nothing, or actually believe that it never happened, is sick. Sure, a lot of times if you aren't there for something so bad, you aren't going to be able to believe it. And then some times you just don't want to believe that something so sick could happen.

Well I guess I want to say thank you for the great site on the Holocaust, it has helped me understand it better, and I hope that many other people will take interest in the subject...thank you...Kristen M.

I would just like to express my thoughts on your Holocaust- History Page that has been put together. I've searched the whole net and, by far this is the best, all-rounded site. Thank you for all your help and I hope to visit again to see what you've further done to this site. Just a mention, I'm particularly looking for information on the after-math of the Holocaust for the Jews. The struggles, hardships, discrimination, etc., to do with Neo-Nazism, how the different churches treated the Jews in other countries, immigration, etc. But you provided me with much other information. Thanks.

Respectfull regards for your stirring Web site on the Shoah and its dramatic, unforgettable outcomes. I'm a European and not proud for what our "old" countries did to other human beeings. I always wonder how the Nazi Germany and its accomplices could perform such acts of barbarism ? How such top level educated countries, from which are issued Mozart, Heine, Strauss, Rilke, Kant, and so many genious in each field of the human challenges, could fall so promptly far below any imaginable Hell ? How can educated people with 2.000 years of a so-called Christianity or Philosophy, adopt and follow such inhuman behaviours ? This is the mystery of evil which is engraved in the darkness of our hearts... Yves (48 years - Paris/France)

As a former christian, I went in 1988 ago in Auschwitz, and other Eastern european everlasting damned places. I was an enthousiastic member of a jewish-christian fellowship tending to reconciliation. I was the only "goy" among my jews brothers! Once in the Birkenau crematoriums, I saw all the people annihilated. Because most of these Ashkenazes lost any family member during the european Shoah. An old member told me he has lived in this "inferno" enough time to learn what's inhumanity. Thus, he cried and failed down. Everybody was mentally pulled down. I was terrified to share only one atom of this terror.

This "journey" in Poland was one of the hardest I ever experienced. I read a lot and saw a lot videaos on the Shoah which is part of our european history. But, since this day of May 1988, I lost definitely faith in any "god" as He/She/it (select according to your sensibility) is mentally proposed in our traditional faith. All these criminals were baptized and educated within the Christian church. Unfortunately, such absurdities are available in each faith, in each "spiritual" clan.

I only believe in brotherhood, in the reasonable "lights", in education. Mankind needs only Education and Respect. It's the only way to sweep out definitely this terror, avoiding the experience again our very recent past. On behalf of those who did not have right to live a humble human life, thank you for your Web site.

I feel cowered and afraid when i read and see such terrible actions perpetrated by ohter human beings upon uther human beings.

I cannot find the words to express not only my revulsion and sadness, and i feel unworthy to add any comment here after the profound and heart touching sentiments people have expressed here. As a human being I only hope and pray that i will never see anything like this in my lifetime. But one only has to look nearer to home and see the actions being carried out in places such as Kosovo, Albania, and other parts of the worls.

We must all work together to teach be example that the behaviour metered out by the Nazis,is not acceptable to us or to God.

WHERE THERE IS NO VISION, THE PEOPLE PERISH

The Holocaust "was the most egregious war crime of all time, . . . in which millions of innocent citizens were tortured and murdered because of their heritage, their religion, their ethnic identity.

"If people perish when the leadership has no vision, they also perish when the leadership has the wrong vision."

Although we are a practicing Christian family, I am a mother of 2 boys whose biological paternal grandmother was a Lithuanian Jew. Recently at school the word "Nazi" has been thrown around by some of the children when referring to children of German descent. In my way of thinking, this label, is similar to calling an African-American person the "N" word. I am seeking information on how to best educate my sons, ages 8 & 10, on the reality of the Holocaust, and how this part of their biological family's history relates to them growing up today in middle America. Any advice you can offer, or suggestions for resource information is most appreciated. Respectfully, Sandra Seyfarth-Lechner

Over the past year, I have become extremely interested in the Holocaust. I have purchased many books on the treatments to the Jews and other prisoners in the various camps. I look to their experiences for a source of strength, greatfulness, and a spirit of humility. I appreciate this website, along with many other sources of information. They have touched my life and spirit. Thank you, Dana Danvers

We might think that we know averything about the Holocaust and what is going on with the Jews and make these webpages about what is happening about them. But over all you hardly know what is going on with the Jews. If you want to know more about what is going on with them and so on ... Then you might try looking in the Bible.

In November 1997, I was fortunate to have visited Israel and even more honored to visit The Yad Vashem Museum in Jerusalem. I am presently writing a short essay for my English class and was so blessed that I kept a journal of my trip as reference. Please keep up the tremendous work that you are doing as the story of those who perished in the most unthinkable ways needs to be told. The children's museum hit me the hardest. 1.6 million babies and children were killed! Keep their memory alive.

I very much enjoy reading the history of the Holocaust as well as comments of others. I am a History buff and I get very upset when I read about someone who denies that the Holocaust happened. They are denying secular history that happened 50+ years ago. Many of our Parents were involved in WWII and they have very vivid memories.

Thank You for all the Information you put online. Sincerely, L.A. Patten

In my country, a certain "writer", in a perverse book, "Holocausto : Judeu ou Alemão ? (Holocaust : Hebrew ou German" have denied the proper existence of the death camps, and sustained that the holocaust never ocurred !

I am a 10th grade high school student at Burnet High School. I was told to do a report on The Holocaust. I never knew about the many different types of people murdered. I was reading through and searching the web and I found many things about it. I began to think about how people must have felt, and the ways they coped. I know had I lived then, I probably would have killed myself. I ammend those who made it through it, and I sympathize for those who didn't and their survivors. I am greatly shocked at the lack of knowledge most peopl have about the Holocaust. I was very amazed, to say the least, to find out what I have. I only wish the peple hte best, and hope they move on with their lives as well as can be expected.

I know that everyone usually becomes upset when one begins to speak of the holocaust and the tragedy surrounding it, but it is far from a unique occurance. What about the ethnic cleansing in the far east? It surprises me that people put so much passion into one plight while completely ignoring another. If I seem to be disrespectful, then you are taking what I have to say the wrong way. Believe me, I too feel sorry for what happened, but it is in the past, and nothing will change if everyone simply lives in past events. Can another holocaust be prevented? From present observation, obviously not. It takes involvement in a Western country to provoke the emotions necessary for the public to realise what is going on, and that it it wrong. If you wish to email me and voice your opinion concerning mine, please do so.

I feel that Germany offering monetary reperations for what happened is very insulting.
