Sara and Simon KEJZMAN, born in
Brussels, were deported under the false names of Marguerite and Simon BOGAERT.
Turned back by the Swiss as they tried to cross the border, they were arrested
and imprisoned in Belfort, before being sent on to Drancy. The UGIF was able to
intervene, and placed one child in its Lamarck center and the other in the Guy
Patin center (both in Paris). There the children were arrested as part of the
large sweeps in Paris on February 10, 1943. They were deported on February 11,
1943, on convoy 47. Sarah turned 15 on the
day of her second and last arrest; Simon turned 10 just 2 days before
deportation. |
