| Georges HALPERN was born on October 30, 1935,
in Vienna, and was one of the 44 children from Izieu. The parents of this only
child survived. Georges' mother, Séraphine, had had to part with him
when she was hospitalized, first at Saint-Louis Hospital in Perpignan
(Pyrénées-Orientales), then at the sanatorium L'Espérance
(Hope) in Hauteville (Ain), near Izieu. |
