Gedalé HEJBLUM, born on December 7, 1929, was deported with his mother Fajga and his Aunt Brana on convoy 15 of August 5, 1942, after their arrest during the Vel d'Hiv roundup. The family lived at 109 rue du Faubourg du Temple in Paris (10th arr.). His brother Samuel, age 17, deported with the family from Beaune-la-Rolande, was the only family survivor, and one of only six people from convoy 15 – which carried 1,076 Jews to Auschwitz – to be alive in 1945.
