Henriette and Michel SCHWARTZMANN, cabinetmaker, lived in Tinqueux (Marne) with their 12 children. The 13th child, the oldest, André, was imprisoned in Spain while trying to join the Free French. All the rest of the family were arrested in the big roundup of Jews in Rheims, transferred to Drancy and deported together on February 3, 1944, on convoy 67. The two older daughters, Suzanne, age 22, and Léa, 18, were the only ones to return. All the others died: the parents; Simone, age 16; Robert, 15; Antoinette, 12; Jeanne, 11; Pierre, 10; Marcel, 7; Maurice, 5; Madeleine, 4; Ginette, 2; and Marie-France, 11 months.
