Henri ZAJFMAN was born on March 11, 1927, in
Kielce, Poland. After the Vel d'Hiv roundup, his mother tried to cross over to
the Vichy Zone with her two children, Henri and Evelyne.
Denounced by the people who were to take them across the demarcation line, they
were arrested. Evelyne stayed in the prison of Chalon, but Henri and his mother
were transferred to Pithiviers and deported, his mother on convoy 16, Henri on
convoy 24 of August 26, 1942. |
