Jacques and Michel SUGANAS were the oldest children in the family and were born in Le Mans (Sarthe). They were 16 and 15 years old, respectively, when they were deported with their father, Salomas (Salomon), a Lithuanian, on convoy 8 from Angers on July 20, 1942. Their mother, Cilie, and two sisters – Hélène, age 13, and Jeanne, 10 – were deported that fall, on convoy 42 of November 6, 1942. The girls were also born in Le Mans, where the family lived at rue de la Grande Maison.
