They were 16 and 15 years old, respectively, when they were deported with their father, Salomas (Salomon), a Lithuanian, on convoy 8 from Angers on July 20, 1942. Their mother, Cilie, and two sisters – Hélène, age 13, and Jeanne, 10 – were deported that fall, on convoy 42 of November 6, 1942.
