| Edith JONAP was born on January 10,
1927, in Dusseldorf, Germany. The family fled to France in May 1940: Edith; her
parents, Hermann and Adèle (Czech and Hungarian); her brother Bernard;
and her sisters Paula, age 17, and Gerda, 13. The OSE managed to
send Bernard, 10, to the United States. Edith and her sisters were sent to a
home in Limoges (Haute-Vienne), in central France, at 8 cours Jean
Péricaud. During the big roundup in the Vichy Zone, the parents were
arrested in nearby in Oradour-sur-Vayres and the daughters in Limoges. They
were interned at the camp in Nexon; all five were handed over by Vichy to the
Nazis in the Occupied Zone and deported on convoy 26 of August 31, 1942. |

Heinrich HELLREICH was born on December
8, 1926, in Vienna. Taking refuge in France, he was taken in at the
Château de la Guette, then by the OSE, and finally installed in Nice at
the Mont-Blanc Hotel. He was arrested at the hotel when the Germans took over
Nice and was deported on October 7, 1943, on convoy 60.
