Ernest KAPLAN was born on February 4, 1929, in Paris. He was arrested with his parents, Emma and Samuel, and his sisters Paulette, age 20, and Louisette, 25. They were arrested at the Hotel Continent in Nice, where they had then refuge [sic]. They were deported on convoy 60 of October 7, 1943. This picture shows Ernest with his parents and his sister Paulette.

            Jacques                  Tonia

Tonia KELZ was born on May 17, 1925, in Antwerp, where the above picture was taken in 1939. She was deported with her parents, Chaskiel and Anna, after having been arrested by gendarmes on July 17, 1942, in the Basses-Pyrénées near Spain. Interned at Gurs, then at Rivesaltes, they were handed over to the SS in Drancy by Vichy, and all three were deported on convoy 33 of September 16, 1942. Only little Jacques, in the care of the OSE, escaped deportation.
