Edgard PREISS was born on July 24, 1934, in Vienna. He was deported with his mother, Léna, on convoy 64 of December 7, 1943. They were arrested either in Saint-Martin-de-Vésubie (Alpes-Maritimes), where they lived at 6 rue Rumpelmayer, or after an unsuccessful flight to Italy from which they were brought back to France. They had fled from Austria, then from Belgium, and were then interned in the Levant Hotel in Marseilles. Edgard's father, Maximilian, was deported from the Milles camp on convoy 50.
