Edouard REITER was born on April 19, 1926,
in Vienna. A refugee in May 1940, he lived in Saint-Martin-de-Vésubie
(Alpes-Maritimes), near Italy. He was arrested by the SS after going to Italy.
He was transferred to Drancy and deported on December 7, 1943, on
convoy 64. He survived.

A plaque on the front of a school in
Montargis in Loiret reads: To the memory of Helga-Berthe SACHS, a pupil
of this school, the victim of collaboration and of Nazi barbarism. Arrested on
March 5, 1944, killed on August 5, 1944 in Auschwitz, at the age of 12. Helga
was born on March 15, 1932, in Berlin and was deported on
convoy 77 of July 31,
1944.

Gérard ROSENZWEIG survived. He was born on
September 6, 1925, in Bünde, Germany. He was in the care of the OSE. He
was arrested at the Château de Chabannes (Creuse) during the big roundup
in theVichy Zone, transferred from the Nexon camp to Drancy, and deported on
convoy 26 of August 31, 1942. |
