              Maurice, Gisèle and Berthe with their parents
  Carlotta SLOMOWICS was deported on convoy 37 of September 25, 1942, with her four children, all of whom were born in Paris: Maurice, age 7; Berthe, 4; Gisèle, 3; and Ernest, born on April 11, 1942, who is not shown in the picture. The family lived at 4 impasse Guéménée (4th arr.).  
Berthe SZTARKMAN was born in 1926 in Lodz, Poland, as was Maurice in 1929 and Abraham in 1931. All three were arrested and deported with their parents, Abraham and Eidla, on convoy 55 of June 23, 1943. Only Renée, the oldest, held in the Gurs camp, survived.
