All witnesses in this case appeared before the Tribunal, except for 13 witnesses whose testimony was taken by commissioners of the Tribunal concerning affidavits they had signed and which had been offered in evidence by the prosecution. In the table below, prosecution witnesses are designated by the letter P and defense witnesses by the letter D. If the witness was a prosecution affiant called for crossexamination by the defense, the letter designation PA (prosecution affiant) is used. If the witness was a defense affiant called for crossexamination by the prosecution, the letter designation DA (defense affiant) is used. As the first column below indicates, the same witness was sometimes called by both the prosecution and the defense at different stages of the trial. The names not preceded by any designation represent defendants.
