|
__________ * Fritz Thyssen, one of the
earliest supporters of Hitler among German industrialists, emigrated from
Germany in protest upon the outbreak of the war with Poland in 1939. Tyssen's
German properties were confiscated by the German Government and managed
principally through a newly formed special enterprise, the "Gewerkschaft
Preusson," of which defendant Steinbrinck was the managing director. Since
Thyssen's property included substantial holdings in the Vereinigte Stahlwerke,
Steinbrinck became an important official of this large iron and steel concern.
