| In the period from
24 November to 25 December 1942, the Economic Staff East* together with a
representative of the East Ministry, inspected large eastern workers' camps of
factories in the Gaue of Duesseldorf, Essen, South Westphalia, and North
Westphalia. Representatives of the German Labor Front [Deutsche Arbeitsfront,
DAF], the Security Service [Sicherheitsdienst] and the Dortmund Regional Labor
Office were called upon to aid in this inspection. Considerable shortcomings
