under my jurisdiction.
Q. Did you hear about it afterwards?
A.
Yes, I did. I cannot tell you the exact date.
Q. Did you hear anything
in the course of your work which indicated the purpose of this contribution?
A. No. I was convinced that it was for purely charitable purposes; that
is, that it was to help out the refugees in their distress; that in those weeks
and months, many Sudeten Germans fled to Germany; I had not only read it in the
newspapers but I had more direct evidence of that.
Q. You are referring
to a letter which you received at the time?
A. Yes, Document 27.

regard to the whole question of private industry, Hitler was not quite definite
up to 1933. It was generally believed that he would remove private industry and
have it nationalized. He did not do so; but he distrusted industry. He was also
afraid that his main work, which was to adjust the differences between labor
