Q. Well, now, Dr. Janssen, and the
other members of the Vorstand who were responsible for this policy, were
nevertheless fully cognizant of the fact they were running an extreme hazard so
far as they were personally concerned, didn't they?
A. Your Honor, I
only discussed the matter with Mr. Janssen, and we both realized the risk we
were running; but what we had to do was to try and see that the government
authorities did not notice anything of our plans.
Q. Well, was your
willingness to take that risk dictated by financial considerations?
A.
I was at that time prepared to take the risk.
