__________ ¹ The German Civil
Service is divided into two main groups: Beamte (officials) and Angestellte
(employees). Beamte are classified according to four levels Beamte of
unteren Dienstes (lower level), einfachen mittleren
Dienstes (intermediate level), gehobenen mittleren Dienstes
(upper level), and Hoeheren Dienstes (higher level). Angestellte
are mainly custodial employees, workers, and minor clerks, but also includes
some specialists who do not have Beamten status.
² Officials of
the lower level are usually clerical employees and are usually
addressed with the title of their position (such as Buerovorsteher,
chief clerk).

Regierung, Verwaltung, Ministerial,
